Avro Heritage Museum
Situated on the former Woodford Aerodrome off Chester Road, Woodford in Cheshire the Avro Heritage Museum preserves and sustains the rich heritage of Avro and its prominent place in world aviation. In particular the Woodford site which was first occupied in 1924, from which iconic aircraft emerged including Lancaster, Vulcan, Nimrod and BAe 146.
The museum takes visitors on a journey from 1907 to 2011 hosting fascinating exhibits and is home to the only example of an all-white Vulcan bomber. There are also many activities on offer including cockpit tours and the chance to hunt submarines on a genuine Nimrod tactical station.
Visitors can have a go at flying a Vulcan on a flight simulator or embark on a WWII bombing raid with their state of the art virtual reality suite.
